Tough Win for Pironkova in Moscow

Tsvetana Pironkova defeated Ksenia Pervak (6-1 3-6 6-2) in the first round of the Kremlin Cup tournament in Moscow.

The match was far from perfect for Tsvety. However, she managed to save 12 from 13 break points and after a big fight she won the match in the 3^rd set.

For passing this round of the tournament Pironkova will get 60 points for the WTA ranking. If she passes the second round she will get another 60 points.

Tsvety’s next match will be against the 5’3” Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) who managed to defeat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (7-6(5) 2-6 6-0) in the first round of the tournament. The match will be played in Wednesday or in Thursday.
