Tsvetana Pironkova Honorary Citizen of Plovdiv

Today Tsvetana Pironkova was presented with the freedom of Plovdiv (Bulgaria). The 23-year-old tennis player is now the youngest honorary citizen of Plovdiv.

“No matter where I go Plovdiv remains the most beautiful city for me. I am honored to be presented with this award”, said Tsveti.

“Fortunately I’ll be in my hometown at New Years Eve. I will start the season on 9th January with the tournament in Hobart which will be my warm-up for Australian Open. This will be my second time among the top seeds of a Grand Slam tournament“, added Pironkova.

“I haven’t set any specific goals for the next year. I only want to improve my game and my ranking”, said Tsvetana. Kiril Pironkov, father and coach of Tsveti, was awarded with honorary decoration and Plovdiv’s Badge of Honour.
