Pironkova Defeated at US Open


China’s Peng Shuai cruised through Bulgaria’s  Tsvetana Pironkova 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of the US Open Grand Slam tournament. Thus, Pironkova failed to repeat the feat she did at Wimbledon, where she defeated No.2-seeded Venus Williams in straight sets and reached the quarterfinals. Her US Open participation earned her USD 31 000.
